Sacramento – Today, Senator Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno), presented SB 402 on behalf of Inyo County Supervisors to the Senate Appropriations Committee. The bill will authorize the continued use of Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) on the Adventure Trails system in Inyo County. The bill passed out of committee unanimously.
“This program is designed to increase traffic safety, improve natural resource protections, reduce off-highway vehicle trespass on private land, and minimizes impacts on county residents,” said Senator Borgeas. “The Adventure Trails system has served the diverse needs of Inyo County residents and is important to the local economy and tourism.”
SB 402 will extend the ability of Inyo County to designate combined-use roads for up to 10 miles until January 1, 2025, and further evaluate the safety and effectiveness of these routes.
The bill is supported by a number of local organizations including the Inyo County Board of Supervisors, the Off Road Legislative Association, and the Rural County Representatives of California.
